Nicole, a 16-year old young lady from Brillion, who is the niece of one of our Powder Department team members, Jill Trochta (pictured on the right) had the race of her life while trying to beat the leukemia that she was diagnosed with at the age of 12. She won that race! Now, to accomplish an item on her “bucket list”, she and her Mom are raising funds in order to compete in a cancer event called “Team in Training”, preparing for a half marathon in Washington, D.C. in April. In order to participate, they must raise $6,000! The motivation that our Professional Plating team needed to help raise some money was the awareness that cancer can happen to any of us at any time, but when it happen to kids, its becomes unthinkable!
On Thursday, February 20th Professional Plating organized a Sports/Health/Family bucket raffle. Donations to the raffle came from PPI team members and tickets were sold to team members to try to be the lucky winner of some great donations. An unbelievable $1,070 was raised, with PPI donating additional funds to allow us to make a $1,300 donation to Nicole’s efforts and childhood cancer research.
February is known to be Heart Month, and we have seen once again the HEART of the PPI Team come through for someone in need!
