We all know that planning an outdoor event leaves a chance for disappointment if Mother Nature isn't interested in playing along. However, the Brillion Optimist Club and hundreds if not thousands of people had absolutely no complaints about the weather for the Brillion Electric Parade held on Friday, June 9th!

Bob Mathiebe was a founder of Professional Plating, Inc and was instrumental in building a sound foundation for the business to succeed. Bob worked at Professional Plating from 1977 until his retirement in 1999. He passed on January 22, 2016.

Cinco de Mayo is Spanish for "Fifth of May" and is a celebration held each year on May 5th. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's unlikely victory over Napoleon's French forces. This year, the event was the catalyst to have some fun at work!

Annual Food Drive

Professional Plating Inc. once again this year held a drive to collect foo and personal care items. This drive is done each year to support the local St. Vincent Depaul Food Pantry.

The team came impressed us once this year with their overwhelming support. Approximately 1,500 items were donated.

Professional Plating Inc. also donated $300.00 in cash to the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in support of the great things that that group does for the surrounding area.

Small Box or Expedited Freight Shipments

We see all sorts of variations to how we are asked to ship product. 95% of all the material we process for our 450 different customers, goes out truck freight.
The majority of the other shipments are shipped via UPS and/or FedEx, per customer requests.

On Thursday, February 4, 2016, we got our own version of Super Bowl fever started! Our "Soup-er Bowl" event invited Team Members to donate a pot of their favorite soup or chili. Bowls were then sold for $1 each so that others could warm up with a sampling of the various flavors. Team Members also donated and subsequently purchased baked goods.

Professional Plating Inc. held its annual holiday team member food drive to help stock the shelves of the local food pantry. The team collected 992 items this year for the local St. Vincent De Paul's Food Pantry. Building and Equipment Expansion

On Tuesday November 24, 2015 we announced that we will begin a new expansion program in December.

Work is planned to commence on three separate building expansion projects. The three phases will be done concurrently. We have been experiencing some beautiful Fall weather here in Northeastern Wisconsin! We took the opportunity to celebrate Fall with a “Pumpkin Day” event on Wednesday, October 28th.

Teams were encouraged to decorate their work areas with pumpkin and Fall-themed items to help “bring the outside, in”. The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life has an active group in Brillion. The theme this year was "Paint the Town Purple". The signature color of Relay for Life is purple, the color denoted for all types of cancer.

Rick Nicklaus, a Lead Person on one of our zinc rack lines, recently received one of those phone calls that no parent wants to receive. Their son was involved in a serious car accident. A Day for Kids

Harbor House is a safe haven for women and children who have made the difficult decision to get out of a bad situation, domestic violence. Nicole, a 16-year old young lady from Brillion, who is the niece of one of our Powder Department team members, Jill Trochta (pictured on the right) had the race of her life while trying to beat the leukemia that she was diagnosed with at the age of 12. On January 30th, Professional Plating held a fundraiser for one of its team members.
Stella Vetter, from our Powder department, recently gave birth to her son, Braxton. Braxton was born three months early and is currently at Children’s Hospital. Braxton’s premature birth has caused Stella and her family some unexpected travel and medical expenses.

Wear Pink for breast cancer awareness was held on Tuesday, October 29th. This city-wide event to “paint the city pink” was done to raise awareness for breast cancer.

As has been our tradition each summer, we once again sponsored a Team Member Appreciation Picnic on Wednesday, August 14th.

PPI Supports Troops in Afghanistan

Professional Plating Inc. held a care package donation campaign for the NMCB 133. NMCB 133 is a Naval Mobile Construction Battalion that is made up of Navy Seabees. Navy Seabees are members of the United States Navy Construction Battalions that consists of builders, electricians, plumbers, equipment operators, mechanics and many others. Professional Plating Inc. held its annual “Team Member Appreciation Picnic” on August 22, 2012. As part of this year’s celebration, the company invited team members to bring and donate school supplies needed by the Brillion Elementary School. The team collected over 1200 school supply items. The items collected included backpacks, notebooks, pencils, glue sticks, folders, markers, tissues and many other various items.

Relay of Life

On June 17th Brillion held their annual Relay of Life with 15 teams participating. This 12 hour walk was held at the Brillion High School track to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This year $43,288 was raised to help find a cure for cancer and help the people fighting cancer get through it with support and education.

Professional Plating welcomed Brillion High School Chemistry II students along with their teacher Ryan Peterson for a tour of our facility. The students are completing a section on electrochemistry and gave them first hand experience on how electrochemistry is used in an industrial setting. On Friday, February 4th, PPI held a Souper Bowl Tailgating Chili Cook Off for its team members in anticipation of the Green Bay Packers winning the Super Bowl.

• As of March 1, 2010 we are no longer a hazardous waste generator

• Reduced our generation of Waste Water filter sludge by 34,000 lbs in 2009

• Our process cooling water from our rectifiers are recycled back to rinse waters, saving 11,000 gallons of water per day !!

Professional Plating Inc. Is proud to announce the addition of our newest service Black Oxide! Our line is a TruTemp black oxide line. With this comes some exciting new capabilities.

We are able to offer a black oxide that does not emit a salt bloom after processing. Professional Plating can now black oxide the most difficult non-stainless substrates. In celebration of Halloween, Professional Plating held a Pumpkin Decorating contest for its team members.

Team members were invited to decorate their pumpkin in any way; carved, adorned, or painted. Creativity and imagination were encouraged.

All of the pumpkin entries were amazing and it was hard for our judges to pick a winner.

The winner of the pumpkin decorating contest was Amy Grube and her Elmo pumpkin! Amy will receive a $25 gift card for her pumpkin.

Governor Doyle of the State of Wisconsin spent Thursday morning with team members of Professional Plating and Endries International. The City of Brillion will receive a Development Block Grant for infrastructure improvements to support the growth of the two companies.

Governor Doyle was at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton on Thursday, July 24, 2008 to present a check for $97,000. The college is using the money to continue training workers at businesses in Brillion, WI.

As part of an ongoing commitment to focus on safety and wellness for its team members, Professional Plating has purchased a Medtronic LIFEPAK CR Plus AED unit for its 705 Northway Drive, Brillion location. The defibrillator unit has been installed in the plant and is ready for operation if any sudden cardiac arrest situation may occur.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published a final standard for occupational exposure to hexavalent chromium in the Feb 2006 Federal Register. The standard covers occupational exposure to hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in general industry, construction and shipyards.
